Sambong Beach 〉
Sambong Beach is located 3 km south of the causeway connecting Nam-myeon, Taean-gun and Anmyeon-eup, featuring a glittering silver sandy beach called Myeongsasimni. It is named after the three towering peaks, with the protruding Sambong rock formations and Haehaedonghwa flowers being famous, and the dense pine forest is particularly impressive. At low tide, the exposed sandflats are firm, making it ideal for enjoying sports or walking along the coast, attracting many visitors annually. Especially notable are the wide-open natural sandy shore and sand dunes formed by natural phenomena. Behind the beach, a pine forest is well established, attracting many campers.
Gijipo Beach 〉
Gijipo Beach, like the many large and small beaches on the Taean Peninsula, features dense pine forests that provide shelter from the summer midday heat and a gently sloping clean white sandy shore, making it an excellent summer vacation spot for families. The water quality is clean and well-maintained, with the beach stretching about 0.8 km in length and 200 m in width, composed of quartz sand. Around 10 guesthouses run by the nearby village offer a strong sense of hometown hospitality, and the pine forest area is ideal for setting up tents. The view at sunset, with countless islands such as Naepasu-do, Nachi-do, and Tokki Island scattered across the vast sea, combined with the sunset glow, evokes a picturesque scene.
Anmyeon Beach 〉
Anmyeon Beach is located a bit further past the Anmyeondo land bridge in the southern area of the Taean Peninsula. You can see a wide white sand beach surrounded by mountains and rice fields, with islands on the sea creating a scenic view. It is famous as a place to quietly and peacefully enjoy sunrise and sunset, and to take forest baths while viewing the sea. There is also a nearby spot suitable for rock fishing. During low tide, the beach becomes rich with catchable marine life. Nearby attractions include Anmyeon Kart Experience Center, Anmyeonam, Duyeo Observatory, and Sambong Auto Camping Ground, making it suitable as a travel destination in Taean.
Duyeo Beach 〉
The geographical shape is good, and because the area was densely wooded and known as a village where Taoist practitioners cultivated the Way, it was called 'Doye' and is now called 'Duyeo.' In front of the dense pine forest, numerous guesthouses line up, designated as a lodging village by Chungcheongnam-do. There is a wide and fine white sandy beach, and on the left, there is a rocky island called Jongjuryo, creating a natural beach. The gentle slope makes swimming safe, and the water temperature is high, allowing swimming until late summer.
Batgae Beach 〉
About a 10-minute drive from the Anmyeondo connecting bridge, Batgae Beach appears as one of the beautiful beaches of the West Sea. It is relatively large for a lesser-known beach, with very good water quality and a gentle slope, making it suitable for swimming. The beach is 3.4 km long and 250 m wide, composed of fine sand. Sand dunes shaped in a horseshoe surround the beach, providing habitat for shellfish and seaweed, making it an ideal place for children’s marine learning experiences. The entrance area is lined with guesthouses, and a pine forest lies between the lodging and the beach, allowing visitors to enjoy safe and cool camping while facing the sea. There are various nearby beaches, allowing visitors to enjoy swimming around the area. Close to Batgae Beach are Sambong, Gijipo, Anmyeon, Duyeo beaches, and the Anmyeondo Natural Recreation Forest, making it convenient to explore multiple spots together.
Duegi Beach 〉
Duegi Beach, located between Bangpo Beach and Batgae Beach on Anmyeondo Island, is a small beach hardly found on maps. It is the smallest and coziest of the eight beaches on Anmyeondo, quiet with very few visitors and no convenience facilities. Situated about 1 km from Anmyeon-eup in Chungnam, the beach is surrounded by rocky shores and dense pine trees, creating an intimate and romantic atmosphere. A decked walkway along the beach allows easy access to the shore for seaside walks. The sunset here offers a beautiful scene of the red sun and seagulls. Both ends of Duegi Beach have many rocky areas, making it a good spot for sea fishing. Nearby beaches include Ggotji, Sambong, Gijipo, and Duyeo Beach.
Bangpo Beach 〉
Bangpo Beach has good sand quality and is ideal for camping, making it a perfect quiet family resort. On each side of the beach are legendary rocks called Halmi Rock and Halabi Rock, and the area includes a colony of Mogamjunamu trees designated as Natural Monument No. 138. To the southwest, there are natural breakwaters called Naepasudo and Oepasudo. At Bangpopogu Port, many fish such as ray, Conger eel, rockfish, and mackerel are caught, making it famous for fresh sashimi. Nearby are several other beaches including Ggotji and Sambong. The vicinity also includes Anmyeondo Natural Recreation Forest and an arboretum housing 208 species of native plants from the central coastal region, making it suitable for family recreation and physical and mental training.
Kkotji Beach 〉
Kkotji Beach, located on Gwangji-gil in Anmyeon-eup, Taean-gun, Chungnam, offers a picturesque landscape blending a 5 km white sand beach with Halbae Rock and Halmae Rock. The sunset dyed red beyond these two rocks is considered the most beautiful view symbolizing Taean. The beach's charming name 'Kkotji' comes from the abundance of crape myrtle flowers blooming along the white sand. Couples and families enjoy walking along the long sandy beach or watching the waves, becoming part of the beach's scenery. A sad legend is associated with the two iconic rocks: during the Silla Dynasty, naval king Jang Bogo stationed a base on Anmyeon Island. The base commander Seungeon and his wife Mido had a loving relationship, but Seungeon never returned from a voyage. Mido waited by the sea, and after her death, became Halmae Rock. The larger rock closer to the sea naturally became Halbae Rock. The two rocks facing each other seem to welcome the husband returning from the sea, evoking deep emotion. At low tide, the rocks appear connected by a sandbar, as if one. Not only in midsummer but throughout the year, visitors are drawn by the sunset harmonizing with the rocks. Many gather at dusk to capture the beautiful sunset beyond Halmae and Halbae Rocks, creating a spectacular scene.
