Day 1
Soyanggang Skywalk 〉
★3.9(8.7k)The Soyanggang Skywalk stretches refreshingly over the river, with a total length of 174 meters, of which a transparent tempered glass floor section extends 156 meters. At the end of the bridge is a circular plaza with a transparent glass floor at its center. On both sides of the plaza are wing-shaped observation decks. Standing at the center edge of the plaza, you can look down directly at the Ssogari statue, making it a popular photo spot. At set times, a fountain emerges from this statue. After sunset, colorful lights illuminate the area, creating another fantastic scene. At the Skywalk entrance, there are quaint photo zones and a terrace, and right next to it are Soyang 2 Bridge and the Soyanggang Maiden Statue, known as landmarks of Chuncheon.
Samsaksan 〉
★4.3(3)Samsaksan, rising beside Uiamho Lake and Bukhangang River, is one of Chuncheon's most scenic mountains. It consists of three rugged peaks: the main peak Yonghwabong (654m), Cheongunbong (546m), and Deungseonbong (632m), which gave the mountain its name. Though not very tall or grand, the mountain boasts beautiful scenery and is considered a notable mountain for the stunning views from the summit. Samsaksan features a mysterious gorge and waterfalls formed by jointed sandstone, including Deungseon Waterfall, Seunghak Waterfall, and Juryeom Waterfall, creating spectacular landscapes. From the top, you can gaze upon the cityscape of Chuncheon where Uiamho Lake and Bukhangang River blend together. True to its name containing ‘ak-san’ (meaning steep mountain), the terrain is steep and rugged. The main trails enter from Deungseon Waterfall ticket office and Uiam ticket office, with the route from Uiam including a difficult rock-climbing section. Samsaksan is designated a Gangwon-do monument and offers sights like Sangwonsa Temple, Heungguksa Temple, and Samsaksan Fortress.
Gubongsan Observatory Cafe Street 〉
★4.2(866)Gubongsan (441m), a ridge with nine peaks stretching out, is a scenic viewpoint on the eastern outskirts of Chuncheon, a beautiful city surrounded by mountains, lakes, and rivers. It offers great views of the city. Since the 1990s, after a road was built halfway up the mountain, cafes and restaurants began to appear, and it has now become Chuncheon's representative cafe street. The cafes feature floor-to-ceiling glass windows or outdoor terraces to provide the best views. Unique photo zones include buildings reminiscent of Santorini, Greece, and a skywalk observatory surrounded by transparent glass. Among the upscale cafes, there is also an affordable rest area where visitors can enjoy canned coffee and janchi-guksu (banquet noodles), offering diverse choices. The bright daylight views and the sunset scenery dyed in twilight are both unmissable.
Yukrim Hill 〉
Once a declining alley, now reborn as a famous spot in Chuncheon. Yukrim Hill is a hill road connecting the now-closed ‘Yukrim Theater’ and Chuncheon Central Market, which was a major commercial area in Chuncheon until the 1980s and 1990s. However, with new town development and commercial shifts, foot traffic decreased and vacant stores increased. In response, Chuncheon City initiated projects such as the Makgeolli Village specialized street and youth mall creation starting in 2015 to revitalize Yukrim Hill. As a result, closed stores began reopening one by one, changing the streetscape. Trendy young shops appeared, including stylish cafes converted from old houses, new concept makgeolli bars, restaurants run by young farmers serving healthy meals, and European-style tea specialty shops. Meanwhile, long-standing stores like old shoe stores, tadpole noodle restaurants, oil shops, and puffed rice snack shops remain in place. This blend of old and new, analog and trendy sensibilities creates Yukrim Hill’s unique atmosphere.
Day 2
