E-World 〉
E-World is a theme park that began reconstruction with tower construction and comprehensive theme park development in October 1987, finalized its master plan in 1993, and opened in March 1995. It is designed as a European-style urban park decorated with waterfalls, fountains, lighting, and flowers, offering rides, exhibition and art spaces, and clean dining areas for all ages. E-World provides various plazas according to different themes, offering visitors new experiences and enjoyment. Notable spaces include the Entrance Plaza located at the entrance, the Central Plaza in the center of the land, the Children's Plaza for kids, and Young Town Plaza for youth.
Suseongmot Recreation Area 〉
Suseong Recreation Area is located at the lower part of the ridge stretching northwest from Beommul-dong Yongjibong (629m), surrounded by gentle hills and Suseongmot, creating a natural scenic beauty. Formed around Suseongmot, constructed in 1925, it has a storage capacity of 700,000 tons and covers an area of 218,000㎡ with a circumference of 2,020m. Suseongmot was an artificial pond built in 1925 during the Japanese occupation for agricultural water supply. Now, it is used as a waterside relaxation space boasting abundant water year-round. Around Suseongmot, Suseong Land with benches, trees, walking trails, a cruise ship dock, spaceship, cruise ship, Viking, bumper cars, carousel, and other amusement facilities create the recreation area. With boating and pedal boats as well as attractions like a children's playground and Dusan Waterfall, it is perfect for family outings and couples' dates. Daegu Apsan Park 〉
In Nam-gu, Daegu, there is Apsan Mountain with an elevation of 660m. Apsan is flanked by Sanseongsan (653m) and Daedeoksan (546m) on its sides. The park is created in the north valley of these three mountain ridges and is called Apsan Park. It has been developed as a park since 1970 and underwent another 10-year development plan starting in 1981. It is the largest urban natural park in Daegu, covering 5.08 million pyeong. A cable car operates with a total length of 790m up to near the summit. At the foothills, there are an archery range, a riding arena, and a swimming pool, as well as a monument for poet Lee Ho-woo and the Nakdonggang Victory Memorial Hall built in 1979. The large Gol Daedeok Hills boast excellent landscaping facilities, making it popular for family outings and young couples' dates. Daegu Apsan Park offers various walking trails befitting its name as a leisure space for Daegu citizens. Essentially, there are walking trails starting from Daegu Apsan Park connecting to Apsan Mountain, trails from the park to Sanseongsan, and trails linked with Daedeoksan. Anjirang Gopchang Alley 〉
Anjirang Gopchang Alley is located midway on the road connecting Anjirang five-way intersection to Ap-san Anjiranggol. It is an alley lined with marinated gopchang (grilled intestines) restaurants that started around 1979 with Chungbuk Restaurant and expanded after the 1998 IMF crisis as more livelihood businesses emerged, continuing to the present. It serves as a place of rest that ordinary people can enjoy without burden and has recently developed into a youth-led vibrant street. In 2012, it was selected as one of the top five food theme streets nationwide under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Daegu Seomun Market & Seomun Market Night Market 〉
Seomun Market, formerly known as Daegu Big Market, was relocated to its current location by reclaiming Cheonhwangdangji in the 1920s and has a long history. During the Joseon Dynasty, the three major markets were said to be in Daegu, Pyongyang, and Ganggyeong. Named Seomun Market because it was located on the west side of the Daegu fortress, the original market was about 300 meters from the fortress, around the current Sijangbuk-ro Bonjeon Coffee Shop area and the motorcycle alley nearby, opening on the 2nd and 7th of every month. The names Hongdukkye Jeon and Chicken Jeon alleys remain to this day. The market is large, dominated by textile-related items such as silk, cloth, knitwear, crafts, men’s and women’s clothing, dishes, and dried seafood. It is known for its warm hospitality and is conveniently equipped with heating, cooling facilities, and a large parking lot.
Kim Gwangseok Repainting Street 〉
Kim Gwangseok Street is a mural street themed around the life and music of the late Kim Gwangseok, located in the alleys near Bangcheon Market in Daebong-dong where he lived. It was created starting November 2010 as part of the 'Bangcheon Market Munjeonseongsi Project.' Jung-gu Office and 11 artist teams participated. Along the 350m-long wall, murals depict Kim Gwangseok sculptures, him serving noodles at a street food stall, and him looking out to the sea, along with various images and lyrics of his songs. Every autumn, the 'Kim Gwangseok Singing Contest' is held around Bangcheon Market and Dongseong-ro to commemorate him. ◎ Travel info to experience the charm of Hallyu – The drama featured Kim Gwangseok Street, a favorite dating spot for Robin and Hana before their breakup.
