Homyeong Lake is an artificial reservoir of a pumped-storage power plant, serving as the upper reservoir of Korea's first pumped-storage power station. Together with the beautiful mountain terrain of Homyeongsan, the wide reservoir offers a stunning view reminiscent of Baekdusan Cheonji. Homyeong Lake Park was designed as an eco-friendly and themed park centered around this lake. Visitors can take a city bus from Gapyeong-eup and get off at Sanyuri, or get off at Sangcheon Station in Cheongpyeong-myeon and hike to Homyeong Lake while enjoying the surrounding scenery. The park offers paid use of four-wheel bikes and electric cars, making it pleasant to tour the area slowly. The turtle on the lake is not fixed but a floating solar power device that moves in the direction of the wind. The view of Cheongpyeong lakeside from the Homyeong Lake octagonal pavilion is also superb.

About 10km along the lakeside road from Cheongpyeong Dam toward Nami Island, on the left hillside, there is a cluster of exotic buildings. The buildings resemble a Mediterranean village, and combined with the beautiful surrounding landscape of Homyeongsan, it feels like a pastoral village at the foot of the Alps. This place is Petite France, a French cultural village. Petite France's concept is 'flowers, stars, and The Little Prince.' It serves as a youth training center (Goseong Youth Training Center) and is located in the Goseong-ri area of Cheongpyeong-myeon, Gapyeong-gun. Petite France consists of French-style buildings where visitors can stay and experience French food, clothing, and housing culture. Gangchon Recreation Area is a representative recreation area spanning Namsan-myeon and Seomyeon in Chuncheon-si, Gangwon-teukbyeoljachi-do. The place name "Gangchon" originated from ‘Mulkkemal,’ meaning a village located by the Bukhan River. It has good public transportation access and many amusement and accommodation facilities, making it a popular MT (Membership Training) destination for university students from the 1970s to 1990s. Nearby natural attractions include Gugok Waterfall (4 km southwest), Deungseon Waterfall, and Samaksan Mountain (2 km east). Along the Bukhan River, a walking trail offers various leisure activities such as swimming, fishing, sightseeing, and hiking.
