The swinging sensation felt while walking on the bridge combined with the tranquil lake scenery offers a unique experience. It is a popular tourist destination for families and couples and has become one of Paju's representative landmarks.
Paju Imjingak Peace Gondola 〉
The Paju Imjingak Peace Gondola is a tourist facility located within the Imjingak tourist site in Paju-si, Gyeonggi-do. It is Korea's first gondola to cross the civilian control zone. This gondola connects Imjingak and Camp Greaves and is designed as a security and peace tourism content allowing passengers to experience both the history and nature of the DMZ area. While crossing the Imjingang River by gondola, passengers can see the barbed wire fences, guard posts, and traces of division at a glance, making it a place to vividly feel the reality of the South-North division. In addition to regular cabins, there is a crystal cabin with a transparent floor offering a special experience and providing a new visual experience for tourists of all ages. It is a tourist facility noted as a special space where nature and history coexist, reflecting on the meaning of peace and the value of unification. ※ Signing a security pledge is required to visit the civilian control zone.
Paju Jangdan Bean Village 〉
Jangdan Bean Village is located within the civilian control zone inside the DMZ in Paju. Before December 1972, it was part of Jangdan-gun, Gyeonggi-do, but the four myeon areas of Jangdan-myeon, Gunnae-myeon, Jinseo-myeon, and Jindong-myeon were incorporated into Paju-si, making up 20% of Paju's total area. The village mainly cultivates special crops such as rice, beans, and ginseng. As a slow food experience village, it preserves Korean beans and agricultural products and hosts the annual Jangdan Bean Festival to share with many people. There are also restaurants using Jangdan beans as the main ingredient and various experience programs. The name Jangdan Bean comes from the local area name 'Jangdan.' It was selected as the first promoted bean variety in Korea and is known for its excellent flavor, historically presented to the king. Since Jangdan Bean Village is inside the civilian control line, visits require prior arrangement. Entry applications can be made through the Paju Jangdan Tongilchon Bean Farming Cooperative office (031-953-7600), the restaurant direct number (031-954-3443), or the representative’s mobile (010-9541-3442). Upon contact, identification and contact information must be presented at the entrance to receive a permit. When using a private vehicle, briefly park on the road before the checkpoint barricade and call; a vehicle will be sent to guide you to the village.
Jaein Waterfall 〉
Jaein Waterfall has long been widely known as a scenic spot. The waterfall is formed where a small stream flowing down from Jijangbong in the north pours down an approximately 18m high basalt columnar joint cliff, creating a spectacular sight. Around Jaein Waterfall, it is also known as a habitat for natural monuments such as Eoreumchi and endangered species like the pink dragonfly. A beautiful love story related to the name of the waterfall has been passed down. Various basalt features can be observed at Jaein Waterfall, notably columnar joints, undercut caves, potholes, and gas tubes. The waterfall, about 18m high, continues to erode the area below it, forming a pothole with a depth of 5m. A pothole is a deep hole formed when whirlpools occur in concave or broken parts of river rocks.
Yeoncheon Hall 〉
Yeoncheon Hall, located in Yeoncheon-eup, Yeoncheon-gun, is a cafe unlike what its name might suggest. It is situated close to Jaein Waterfall, making it a convenient spot to visit when in Yeoncheon. The exterior made of concrete bricks and the interior feature a unique and sophisticated design. There is a spacious outdoor platform with a shade where visitors can enjoy Yeoncheon Hall's signature beverages along with various delicious breads and rice cakes surrounded by nature. It is also possible to enjoy a light walk in connection with the nearby Dolmen Park.
