Gwaneumsa·Gukhyeongsa Valley 〉
★4.3(470)Gwaneumsa·Gukhyeongsa Valley is a mountain valley located in Haenggu-dong, Wonju-si, Gangwon-do, adjacent to Chiaksan National Park. The valley flows beside Gukhyeongsa, an ancient temple founded during the reign of King Gyeonsun, and boasts excellent scenery with its clear valley water harmonizing with the surrounding dense forest. Visitors can enjoy watching the valley water cascading from above, forming small waterfalls and winding its way down. In summer, it is a good spot to set up small tents and enjoy a cool season. However, the fast currents and uneven, non-flat terrain mean it is not suitable for children’s water play. Chiaksan once had as many as 76 large and small temples, but now only temples such as Yeongwonsa, Bomunsa, Gukhyeongsa, and Gwaneumsa remain, continuing the legacy of Buddhist culture. Among these, Gukhyeongsa is located at the junction of Chiaksan Dullegil courses 1 and 11, attracting visitors who stroll along the valley path.
Gukhyeongsa Temple 〉
★4.3(470)Located in Haenggu-dong, Wonju-si, Gukhyeongsa Temple is a branch temple of Woljeongsa, the main temple of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism's 4th district. It was founded by Monk Muchak during the reign of King Gyeongsun of Silla. Originally named Bomunam, the pronunciation changed over time to Bang-eoro and came to be called Gomonam (古文庵). King Taejo of Joseon, Yi Seong-gye, enshrined the Dongakshin (East Mountain Spirit) here and built an altar, holding annual rituals praying for the nation's peace and prosperity, hence it was called Gukhyeongsa. It is also said that when Princess Heehee, the second daughter of King Jeongjong of Joseon, was cured after a one-hundred-day prayer at this temple, King Jeongjong expanded the temple greatly and renamed it Gukhyeongsa. The temple was abolished in 1680 but was restored in 1907, 1945, and 1974. Existing temple buildings include the Daeungjeon, Sugwangjeon, Dongakdan, Beomjonggak, and Seungdang, and it houses a cultural property, the Jinamdang Dae Seonsa (Great Zen Master) stupa built in 1799.

It was named 'Gil Cafe' because you can get coffee from the vending machines and enjoy the panoramic view of Wonju city. It is now operated as a cafe with a formal building and terrace. It is especially known as a night view spot in Wonju-si. Recently, several cafes have opened near the Chiaksan foot, forming a cafe village.
Wonju Ungok Woncheonseokmyoyeok 〉
★4.3(50)This is the grave of Ungok Woncheonseok (1330~). From a young age, Woncheonseok was bright in scholarship and played a major role in spreading Neo-Confucianism alongside Mokeun Yi Saek. He was also the childhood teacher of King Taejong of Joseon. When politics became corrupt at the end of Goryeo, he lamented this and retreated to Chiaksan Mountain. After the Joseon dynasty was established and he was given office, he did not fully maintain loyalty to Goryeo. Within the gravesite, there is a tombstone and a stone table (sangseok) in front of the burial mound for placing ritual food, and at a short distance is a modest stela (sindobi).
